To ensure the best possible outcome and to maximize your experience with Court Graphix, we have gathered Crucial Must-Know Pre-Production Information in order to achieve the best possible results for your case.
We realize that working with a design firm can be overwhelming and often confusing. – The technical specifications, requirements, terminologies, etc... are just too many things a client might not understand.
To simplify things and encourage our clients to be involved throughout the creative process, we have created a set of guidelines to help YOU, the client, understand what will be needed from you and how to provide it to us.
We believe educating our clients puts them in a better position to provide creative input and make smarter decisions, both now and for future projects.

Certain design elements such as Text, Logos, and specific photo stock to be used as part of a project, should be provided by the client. – Unless otherwise negotiated and stated on the contract.
03.a:: TEXT/COPY - Submitting text copy/content
Submitting content copy/text
All text content should be provided by the client in electronic format* (i.e. word, .doc,e-mail, etc.), NO FAXED OR PRINTED MATERIAL IS ACCEPTED as text content.
All text content must be spell-checked and proofed for grammatical errors, technical terms, etc., before it is submitted to Court Graphix, for content production.
NOTE: Court Graphix will not be held liable for grammatical errors and misspellings contained within the text content submitted for production.
*Electronic format (text) is referred to Word documents delivered via Floppy Disk or E-mail (recommended), – i.e. .doc, .txt, .rtf, etc.
03.b:: TEXT/COPY - Revising text content
Revising text content
All revisions to text content should be re-submitted by the client in electronic format*, either in part or in its entirety. If the revised text content is submitted in part,it should be accompanied by specific instructions for placing and location.
*Electronic format (text) is referred to Word documents delivered via USB, Disk, or E-mail (recommended), – i.e. .doc, .txt, .rtf, etc.
PhotographsSome projects require specific photographs which are provided by the client. If that is the case, it is important you know the following:
• Company and organization photographs are accepted in a variety of formats.However, some additional charges may apply depending on the format you provide.
:: Formats accepted:
• Digital high-quality photographs are preferred
• Regular paper stock photographs
• Printed material, high quality is preferred. – Licensing may be required.
• 35 mm. slides and film
NOTE: Scanning and/or photo retouching charges may apply to paper stock photographs, printed material, 35 mm. slides and film.
TIP: You may scan the photographs yourself at 300 dpi., and submit them to us in a disk. – SEE 07 - DPI Resolution for more details.
Third party stock photography vendors such as gettyimages.com and superstock.com may require you to purchase a licensing agreement for the usage of their photograph as part of a design. If so, we would gladly walk you through the process.
05:: LOGO SPECS (and other proprietary registered or trademarked images)
Logo Specs - (and other proprietary registered or trademarked images)
Unless the logo was created by Court Graphix, all logos must be provided by the client in a legible format (electronic format is preferred). If the logo is provided in printed format, it may be scanned at an additional charge.
:: The following are file formats accepted:
Vector art, also known as line art is the best option for any graphics artwork as it is the highest non-degradable resolution available, which can be enlarged or reduced to any scale while maintaining the best quality.
NOTE: Convert all logo type/text to outlines
- .AI (Adobe Illustrator) v. 7-CS
- .FH10 (FreeHand) v. 10-11
- .CDR (CorelDraw)
- .SWF (Flash. – Screen Graphics Only)
All art and photos must be at least 300 dpi for printed material and 72 dpi for Screen art (i.e. Web or TV, and Projected presentation graphics through a projector)
- .PSD (PhotoShop)
For your protection as a client, each project created by Court Graphix is ruled by a contract between the Client and Court Graphix. This contract discloses detailed project information, deadlines, pricing, confidentiality agreement, etc.
07:: DPI RESOLUTION (Dots Per Inch)

:: Print art
Printing material require higher graphic resolution (a more dense concentration of pixels per inch or PPI) to produce a sharp High-Quality print. To achieve this, all the elements of the design should be at least 300 dpi (Dots per Inch), anything less than 300 dpi risks producing a jagged low-quality print.
Screen Viewable material such as Websites and Multimedia Presentations are referred to as Screen Graphics. The resolution for this type of graphics is not as demanding as Print Graphics; a low-resolution design created at 72 dpi (Dots per Inch), would look just as good in your monitor as the one done at higher resolution for printed material.
